Conferences
The Network usually holds two conferences each year, one of which includes our AGM.
Our most recent conference was hosted by Liverpool City Council on 15th and 16th May 2008. You can see further details here.
The conferences are hosted by local authorities or other members of the Network at venues around the country with the host dealing with all delegate bookings direct.
Conferences provide excellent opportunities for members to meet, share concerns, good practice and discuss new ways of approaching problems. We try and cover a range of issues which have previously included HHSRS, housing standards and fire safety officers working together, student accommodation and tenancy deposit schemes.
Speakers give presentations in plenary sessions and smaller workshop groups throughout the day so that delegates have an opportunity to discuss issues and ask questions.
A recurring theme in the feedback we get from delegates is that they find the networking opportunities to be really beneficial - making contacts they can speak to over future months.
Information, including presentations, from previous conferences is also displayed on our website for 12 months.
Our Conference Co-ordinator Bill Page is always looking out for future conference hosts. We have a conference manual for host organisations and Bill gives as much help and advice as possible throughout the whole planning process.
If you are interested in hosting a future conference please contact Bill Page.
Our next conference will be hosted by Exeter City Council on Thursday 27th November and you can see more details here.
